Samuel Walker is a Brooklyn born and raised artist. Coming from a family of artists and collectors of comicbooks, he attended both art high school( Brooklyn Highschool of the Arts) and college (Pratt Institute). At Pratt he learned about the concept of Afrofuturism, since then he has been dedicated to the creation of art that reflects both a science and social justice perspectives. After graduating with a bachelor's in fine arts Sam spent the next few years teaching himself electrical engineering game design and robotics, this has greatly influenced the science aspect of his afrofuturist work. If you asked him what is the subject matter of his work he would say “ black women !“ if you asked the genre he would say “ Afrofuturism!”.
